On Friday, October 26th, 2007, Apple's hot new OS was released in stores. Entitled OS X Leopard, it is the biggest update since Tiger. I tried it out yesterday, and believe me, it is definitely worth shelling out $129.95 for. Even better, you can upgrade to Leopard for only $9.95 if you bought a Mac after October 1st.
Is it worth more than 100 clams?
Actually, it is. With spaces, you can increase your productivity in no time, and visually, it is a lot more appealing than Tiger.
The features are so good, that I waited an hour and a half in the pouring rain just to be able to look at it.
It must be good then, right?
News:
Apple's new keyboard rocks the house! It's incredibly thin, but pretty heavy, so you won't have to worry about it falling into your lap while typing. The keys have been completely redesigned; they are shaped exactly like the Macbook's keys. The wireless keyboard is Bluetooth compatible, and for some odd reason it does not boast a number pad. Weird, but ok.
It's even compatible with Windows XP, it is plug and play.
And, on top of all that, it is stunningly beautiful.
What more could you want?
Hold That Leopard!!!!!!!:
Apple offered a friend of mine a fantastic deal on Leopard: 9.95 for a full upgrade CD. Of course he went through with it, and it arrived at his door the next week. He was about to install it when I warned him that there were unknown bugs with both QuarkXPress and Word 2004, both of which he uses for work. He didn't do the install, and now everything is fine. It may be worth the 130 bucks for a computer with few third-party apps, but otherwise, I would wait.
It's hypocritical, but true.
Apple Website:
Not much new, but the iPhone now features the iTunes wi-fi music store. Perfect time to buy one. Plus, the price is $200 bucks down from what it used to be, so why not?!
